Udupi, Nov 8: A special police team had been formed as per the directions of the district superintendent of police (SP), Nisha James, and additional superintendent of police, Kumar Chandra, to nab those involved with several recently reported cases of house thefts and stealing of laptops in houses located within Manipal police station limits.
Manipal police station personnel, acting under the guidance of Udupi assistant SP, T R Jaishanker, have succeeded in arresting Bajpe, Hoigepadav village resident Yogish from Perampalli near Manipal on November 6.
A number of gold ornaments, laptops etc stolen by the accused from within different police station limits in Manipal including 133 grams of gold jewellery, five laptops, one lac rupees in cash and a motor cycle used for the thefts, which were found to be in his possession, were confiscated. The total value of items so recovered is approximately has been put at Rs 6,65,000.
Manipal police station sub-inspector, Manjunath M, probationary police sub-inspector, Rajashekar Vandali, Suma B, ASI Shailesh and staff Dayakar Prasad, Abdul Razak, Thomson Jadkal, Prasanna, Adarsha, home guard Srinivas Shettigar and driver Sudeep took part in the operation.

Fri, Nov 08 2019Great work done by the cops but also can you stop smoking and drugs consumption which is high in manipal it is burning the place and spreading like cancer petty shops, hotels, street corners are flooded with this activities if taken an action it will be a healthy place
