Anahat Singh wins GU-13 title at Eastern Slam squash


Kolkata, Nov 13 (IANS): Anahat Singh on Wednesday won the GU13 title at the Eastern Slam squash championship that was held in Kolkata. The 11-year-old beat Navya Sundarajan from Delhi in 3 straight sets 11-1, 11-0, 11-9.

The win is a continuation of what has been a stellar year for her in which she has won the British, Dutch and European open titles. Earlier in November she had won the U-15 title at the Northern India Squash championship in New Delhi. Her sister Amira Singh had won the U-19 title in the same tournament.

The Eastern Slam is Anahat's 45th title. She has thus far won 40 national titles and five internationals. This includes the National Squash Championships in which she had won the U-15 title while Anahat had won the U-19 title.
