Udupi: MU Inter-Collegiate Cross Country Race to be held at Milagres College

Udupi, Aug 18: Mangalore University (MU) inter-collegiate cross country race for men and women will be held at Milagres College campus, Kallianpur, near here on Saturday August 22.  It will be jointly organized by MU department of physical education and Milagres College Kallianpur.

Milagres College Alumni Association vice president Lavina D’Souza will flag-off the six-kilometers long cross country race for women at 7.00 am on Saturday August 22. 

Kallianpur gram panchayat vice president and alumnus Santhosh Sherigar will flag-off 12.5 kilometers of cross country race for men at 7.45 am on Saturday August 22.

Milagres College correspondent Fr Marcel Saldanha will preside over the prize distribution ceremony, to be held at 10.30 am on the same day.
 
MLA Raghupati Bhat will be the chief guest.  Kallianpur Rotary Club president Vijay P Mayadi and Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) assistant director of physical education and alumnus Narayan Prabhu will be the guests of honour of the occasion.

Milagres College physical director and convener Augustine A Dias and MU director of physical education Dr H Nagalingappa will be present.

Kurunji Vishwanath Gowda Memorial Rolling Trophy for men and Kaikure Ramanna Gowda Memorial rolling Trophy for women will be presented to the winners, the college has informed.
