Ola Electric appoints BVR Subbu as board member


New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS): Ola Electric on Wednesday appointed BVR Subbu as a member of its board of directors.

Subbu currently manages a boutique strategy-consulting firm named Beyond Visual Range, advising global PE funds and serves as a member of the boards of various automotive and technology companies.

"I am very excited to welcome Subbu on the board of Ola Electric. Subbu has played a key role in building and establishing some of India's iconic automotive products like the ubiquitous Hyundai Santro and the Tata 2213. His deep understanding of the mobility space and consumers will be very valuable to us in our journey to build electric mobility for India and the world," Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-founder and CEO, Ola, said in a statement.

A visionary and thought leader in the automotive industry, Subbu brings with him and experience that spans four decades.

Beginning his career with the Tata Administrative Service, he was seconded to Tata Motors, where he held multiple leadership responsibilities across the vehicles and spares marketing/sales, service and sales finance functions.

"Ola Electric is the perfect amalgam of the passion and social consciousness of youth, an exceptional appreciation and understanding of technology, and a demonstrated ability to successfully build global scale and competitiveness, coming together to attain the national imperative of sustainable mobility," said Subbu.

Subbu is known for his stewardship of Hyundai Motors India and building the company to a position of pre-eminence in the Indian automotive industry.
