Puttur: St Philomena PU College organizes spectacular Athletic Meet

Puttur, Nov 14: Dignitaries at the annual Athletic Meet conducted at St Philomena PU College on November 12 inaugurated the event by releasing balloons into the air.

The president, Fr Alfred J Pinto, correspondent said that students should have hope and respect their elders and teachers.

The chief guest, Deepak Rai, Urologist, City Hospital, Puttur said that one should take sports as a profession.



The guest of honour, Navaneethraj, vice-president, Amateur Kabaddi Association, Puttur and alumnus, St Philomena College, Puttur said that sports is a vigorous physical activity which involves physical exertion and skill.

Fr Dr Anthony Prakash Montheiro, campus director and chairperson of PG Studies and Research Center extended his best wishes to the students.

Shashikanth Rai, PTA president and Jagjeevan Das, president, Alumni Association, Oswald Rodrigues, headmaster of St Philomena High School, Sr Lora Pais, headmistress of St Philomena Primary High School. Louis Mascarenhas, former Physical Education teacher, Fr Rithesh Rodrigues, warden were present on the occasion.

A tremendous marchpast display was presented by the students.

Fr Vijay Lobo, principal, St Philomena PU College welcomed the gathering. Suma D, department of English, proposed the vote of thanks. Rahul, department of Commerce compered the programme.
