Mangalore: State Level Wikipedia Seminar cum Workshop at St Aloysius

Mangalore, Aug 20: The Department of Mass Communication (PG) with Wikipedians, Bangalore will organize a one-day state level Wikipedia seminar cum workshop, ‘Wiki-Academy’ at Eric Mathias Hall, IT block, St Aloysius College on Saturday, 22 August 2009. The inauguration will be held at 9:30a.m.

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia that allows anyone to contribute articles and edit the published articles. It was launched on 15 January 2001. It has over 3,002,536 articles in English, besides many more in various other languages.

The Wiki Academy includes the usage of Indian languages in Wikipedia, editing and its applications in academics. Wikipedia team from Bangalore will be the resource persons for the academy.

Interested students, teachers and professionals could register themselves before 21August by noon at deptofmasscommunication@gmail.com or sajna Aravind-9945480628. registration is free.
