Bellary: Election Irregularity - Somashekhar Reddy Gets Bail

Bellary, Aug 20: Local MLA and chairman of Karnataka Milk Federation, G Somashekhar Reddy, was granted bail by the JMFC court here, on Wednesday August 19.

Reddy faces criminal a case relating to election irregularities. As he remained absent from consecutive hearings, the court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. Reddy presented himself at the first additional JMFC court here on Wednesday. Judge Sarvamangala granted him bail on the condition of executing a bond for Rs 10,000. Advocate Siddareddy accompanied the MLA.

Reddy has been accused of enticing the voters by offering money, in exchange for voting for him. He was booked under section 171 E and a non-bailable warrant was issued on August 14, as he failed to appear in the court as per summons.
