Mangalore: Congress Urges Governor to Oversee District’s Security

Mangalore, Aug 21:
A delegation of members of the Dakshina Kannada (DK) District Congress Committee (DCC) led by vice-president Ivan D’Souza, presented a memorandum to Governor Hans Raj Bharadwaj through deputy commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj here on Thursday August 20.



It urged the Governor to advise the state administration to tighten law and order in the district which has been worsening with assaults on innocents at night besides other untoward incidents across the city. 

A separate memorandum was also presented to Ponnuraj asking him to take necessary action against those who are responsible for such attacks and the vested interests behind them.  The DC assured the delegation of early action on the matter.
 
DCC vice-president Kodijal Ibrahim, corporator Guljar Banoo, Basheer Ahmed, Vishwas Kumardas, T K Sudhir, Praveen Alva, Sharan Kumar, Harish Kumar Pandeshwar, Sanjeev Kotian, Stephen Maroli, Ashraf Pandeshwar, Nazeer Bajal, and Jagannivas Shetty were present on the occasion.
