Doha: Arun Kumar Elected Karnataka Sangha President

Doha, Aug 22: The new management committee of Karnataka Sangha in Qatar (KSQ) for the period of 2009 – 2010 was formed, recently. Arun Kumar K M was unanimously elected president of KSQ.

V S Mannangi was elected the vice-president, Arun M K (ABB) as the general secretary, Subrahmanya as the cultural Secretary, Nagesh Rao as the treasurer, Mohammed Nayeem as the joint secretary, Guru Prasad as the joint cultural secretary, Deepak Shetty as the sports secretary, Manjunath as the communication in-charge, Kalyan Shetti as the database in-charge and Roopa Pramod as the ladies co-ordinator constitute office-bearers of the KSQ. Ashok Unkal, Noor Ahmed, Rudramuni, Gurunath, Mazahar Sherif, Niyaz Ahmed, Dinesh Gowda, Shilpa Mannangi, Hema Lakkappa and Suma Unkal were elected as the committee members. Prabhakar, Arvind Patil, Sanjay Kudri and Sudha Prabhakar constitute advisory committee.

While upholding the ideals of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under which Karnataka Sangha is affiliated, KSQ strives to educate and enhance the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka and India amongst its members and community in large. KSQ also renders active support to ICBF. The new committee has planned various activities in cultural /educational/sports and benevolent activities for the coming period.

Individuals from Karnataka residing in Doha are welcome to become active members of KSQ to enjoy the feeling of being a true ‘Mannina Makkalu of Karnataka’.  Information on the activities can be had from general secretary, Arun M K at 5851753.
