Mangaluru, Nov 20: A meeting of the parents of I PU and II PU students of Expert Pre-University College, Valachil convened separately at the college campus.

The objective of the meeting was to apprise them of the various activities of the college to prepare the students to face upcoming examinations, seek their suggestions and feedback to enhance their performance and to also address their grievances if any.

The meeting was presided over by Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions. He briefed the parents about the various activities and measures that are being taken to prepare the students to achieve their goals.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions spelled out the role of the parents and teachers in accomplishing the desired goal of the students. She informed them that Expert College provides motivational impetus and guidance to students through various programmes such as Edu-Path Lecture Series, expert counselling, interactive sessions with achievers, yoga, pranayama etc.

Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil elaborated on the facilities and congenial atmosphere provided to the students in the college. Shyam Prasad, co-ordinator of AICE and Subramanya Udupa HOD of Mathematics apprised the parents on preparation for competitive exams such as JEE Main, NEET and CET. Ar Deepika A Nayak and Raghavendra Shenoy S vice-principal were present on the occasion.

Queries of the parents regarding various matters were addressed in the interactive session that followed.

Sheryl D’Souza, lecturer in Chemistry welcomed the gathering, compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks in the first session. Anitha Shetty, lecturer in English accorded a cordial welcome to the gathering, compered the programme and expressed gratitude in the second session.
