Mangaluru, Nov 21: The 12th national level competition, Open Karate Championship Western Cup-2019, hosted by Western Institute of Martial Arts and Milagres CBSE School was held at Milagres CBSE School, Hampanakatta.

The tournament was held on November 16 and 17.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the president Fr Joseph Lobo, the manager of Milagres Educational Institutions, the chief guest, Lakshmikanth K, grand master, general secretary DK Karate Federation, Fr Michael Santhumayor, the campus director, Janardhana Bhat Guruswami, Badakkodi president, Dharmashastha Bhajana Mandira Kurmagiri, Punacha, Mohd Kunhi, manager Shanthi Prakashana, Mangaluru, Milagres CBSE School principal, Elveera Lasrado, Shihan K D Thomas, founder, Shito-ryu Karate do Association, DK district and other esteemed and erudite guests.

The winners were awarded trophies and medals by the chief guests.
