Bahrain, Aug 24: Members of Bahrain Kannada Sangha watched and enjoyed a patriotic cultural programme in celebrating India’s Independence Day at their premises “Kaveri” Team headed by Chetana Rajendra with Karunakar Padmashali, Vijaya Sathyanarayana and Navin Shetty presented with patriotic songs, comedy skits and patriotic dances. The programme was started at 8.00 pm by Doomanna Rai, entertainment secretary of Sangha, followed by the prayer song and the documentary show about the river Kaveri known as “South Ganga”, Austin Santhosh the president gave his independence message informed that Karnataka Government will send 35 artistic members with 5 officials of government to show the folk dance of Karnataka heritage, village songs etc. The Home Minister may visit along with the troupe to Bahrain on 1st & 2nd of October 2009.
Shridha Raghupathi, Shruthi Hedge,Santhosh Shetty, Rajesh Sherrigar and Poornima Jagdish have attracted the audiences by their patriotic dance performance.
Sandhya Pai, Usha Kiran, Ganesh Pai, Shivanda Patil and Thakshak Pai’s group song has touched every body’s heart.
The main attraction of the day was” Comedy Circus “headed by Karunakar and his team made the audiences to burst with laughter for a long time among the comedy skills.the “Milking the Cow” and “Kabaddi Play” and “Poojaris early morning holy bath” was amazing.
One more skit performed by Negesh Shetty, Mohandas Pai, Nagaraj Rao, Ashok Suverna and Chethana Rajendra showed the members how the robbers can fool the people in the park.
There was a magic show cum hypnotism show was a special attraction and the audience appreciated his skill.
The programme was anchored by Chethana Hegde the leader of the “Kaveri” team, she Informed members on 27th August 2009,that her team will be performing “Folk festival of Karnataka” consist of Folk Dances, Bootha Kolata Janapada songs ,Village life etc, at the Sangha premises and she proposed vote of thanks and she specially thanked Dajiworld for the wonderful coverage.
