Panaji, Nov 23: Goa Forward Party (GFP) on Friday questioned the capability and seriousness of the Pramod Sawant-led state government and demanded that ports minister and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo be given charge of the home department. The GFP blamed the home department’s inability to crack down on drug trafficking and rave parties.
Speaking to TOI reporters, GFP’s Siolim MLA Vinod Paliencar said that the government authorities are hardly doing anything regarding the easy availability of narcotics along the coastal belt.
“If the chief minister cannot manage the home department, a minister who can do justice to the role should be appointed. MLA and minister Michael Lobo should be given charge because he seems capable and is from the coastal belt. He should be appointed as home minister as he is well-versed with North Goa’s entire coastal belt,” said MLA Vinod Paliencar as quoted by TOI.
