Panaji, Nov 27: Lashing out at Goa Forward Party (GFP) for their petition before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) did more harm than good to the state chief minister, Pramod Sawant on Tuesday when he said he has full trust in the Centre and Union minister for forest, environment and climate change Prakash Javadekar on the Mhadei issue.
He also requested the people in Goa to have little more patience, “Wait and watch. Have little patience,” he said. “GFP’s plea was thrown out by the tribunal. It weakened Goa’s case,” he added.
Sawant met Javadekar when he came to Goa for the International Film Festival of India (Iffi) inauguration. During the meeting, Sawant raised issues against Karnataka government’s attempts to divert Mhadei water for the Kalasa-Bhandura project. Javadekar had sought 15 days’ time to resolve the issue.
