Mangaluru: St Ann’s College of Education inaugurates BEd course

Mangaluru, Nov 27: St Ann’s College of Education, a premier institution in Teacher Education, on November 26th formally inaugurated the BEd course for the year 2019-2021.

Sr Maria Kripa, joint secretary and superior St Ann’s Convent was the president of the programme and Dr Carmelita Goveas, former principal, Besant Evening College was the chief guest.

The programme began with a prayer dance followed by welcome by the principal.



On this memorable day the student cabinet took oath promising their loyalty towards the institution and to be the responsible stewards in discharging their duties.

On this joyous day the students of I BEd showcased their talents through a cultural programme. The student teachers set the stage on fire with their glittery costumes by presenting a retro dance with magnificence and colour to a medley of foot-tapping Bollywood numbers of the 70’s.

Chief guest, Dr Carmelita Goveas, former principal, Besant Evening College addressed the teacher trainees regarding the noble profession of teaching. Appreciating the students for choosing this noble profession of teaching, she highlighted the strategies to be an effective teacher and above all to be better human beings.

Principal, Sr Zeena AC and the staff were present on the occasion. Ophilia and Nirmitha compered the programme and Rithu Nayak proposed the vote of thanks. Sr Dorothy D’Souza coordinated the programme.
