Mangalore: ZP Cross Voting Issue –Congress Expels Sadanand Malli

Mangalore, Sept 1: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) general secretary H Abdul Wahab has announced that Congress member and zilla panchayat (ZP) member from Padu constituency, Sadanand Malli has been expelled from primary membership of the Congress party for the period of six years for indulging in cross voting during the recently held ZP elections. 

District Congress Committee president B Ramanath Rai said that the expulsion follows the submission of report by MLC K C Kondaiah, who had arrived as an observer during the ZP election, to KPCC president R V Deshpande. Legal action too has been taken seeking his removal as ZP member, he added.

Rai said that though Congress rebel and ZP chief K Santhosh Kumar Bhandary has been expelled from the party the decision of State Election Commission has been awaited on his removal from ZP membership.
