Bijapur: Efforts on to Rescue 18-month-old from Borewell


Bijapur , Sep 1 (PTI) : Authorities here today intensified efforts to rescue an 18-month-old baby girl who fell into an abandoned borewell in an agricultural field.

The baby, Eagavva, yesterday slipped into the 200 ft well in Devaranimbarga village, 55 kms from here.

Oxygen was being continuously supplied to the girl through a tube, officials involved in the operations said.

Four earth excavators have been deployed to dig trenches to locate and reach her.

Assistance of army personnel from Belgaum has been sought, they said, adding a team of doctors has also been kept ready.
