Saudi Arabia, Sep 1: The funeral rites of Valavoor Abdul Khader, aged 50, who was brutally shot dead at Al Jouf in the nothen part Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was held on Monfay August 31 at Al-Jouf Cemetery in the presence of his relatives. The deceased was employed in Al-Jouf Super Market after his recent return to the kingdom a year back. He was in the kingdom for about 12 years even earlier after which he had return to India.  

It is reported about the incident of his death that when Abdul Khader was on duty in the super market, a Saudi came in and asked for a mobile recharge card (Sawa Card). Khader handed over the card to the person and demanded for the payment. However, the person refused to make the payment as well as spoke rudely to the deceased. When Khader still insisted for the money, the guy threw the card and also warned Khader that he would be taught a lesson. 

The very next morning, that was on August 17, the man rushed to the shop with a loaded gun and took his revenge by shooting Khader. The Saudi man took his gun and pointed on the head of Khader meanwhile calling another employee of the shop, who hails from Tamil Nadu and was little away from the scene arranging the things in the shelves, and then triggered his bullet mercilessly that caused his death on the spot. The culprit was immediately arrested by the police authorities of the jurisdiction, where the incident took place and was put behind the bars at Al Jouf province.  

Khader was the son of late Iddi Kunhi and Khateejamma, who hails from Valavoor, Tumbe in Bantwal Taluk. He was the only source of livelihood for his family, who have alternative except waiting for the justice from the concerned authorities and Shari’ah Courts in Saudi Arabia. It is the Shari’ah rule in Saudi Arabia that imposes death sentence for the heinous crimes like murder, drug trafficking and such in case the guilt of the offender is proved. The investigation is being carried out by the Saudi Crime Investigation Bureau in Al Jouf. 

Senior resident and social worker Parvez Ali, (Euromarche), JF NRCC Ameer Nawaz Gurupur and Abdul Wahid (Al Mousim Travels) among others helped in getting the legal and administrative formalities done through the Embassy of India, which approved the burial of the deceased Khader without much delay.
