Beltangady: Thousands Witness Enthronement of Kanyady Sri Brahmanand Saraswati Swami

Beltangady, Sep 4: “A glorious India is possible if politics and religion go together, provided the politicians have strong faith for religion in their hearts”, said Sri Gurudevanand Swami of Odiyoor Mutt.
The Swamiji was speaking during the enthronement ceremony of Sri Brahmanand Saraswati Swami, which was held at Sri Rama Mandir, Kanyady, near here, on Thursday September 3.
“The Indian way of life lies in adhering to proven age old tradition and culture as done by generations of countrymen and not in following the bartered culture from the West,” he said.
Meanwhile, Swami Gurudevanand emphasized that love is essential to reach God while spiritual enlightenment and brotherhood can lead to spiritual bliss.
Sri Rajayogi Ramanand Swami of Kolya Mutt, and Sri Vijayanand Swami of Anand Ashram, Bavinakoppa, Belgaum, also spoke on the occasion.
District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that just as a dam helps irrigates crops, the preaching by the Swami had enlightened the gathering. Karnataka Arya Ediga Sangh president J P Narayanaswamy presided over the programme.
Sri Prasannanath Swami of Adichunchanagiri Math branch, Shimoga, Sri Brahmanand Saraswati Swami of Polali Devaragudde Math, Sri Muktanand Swami of Satyanarayan Veeranjaneya Temple, Karinje, Sri Yoganand Saraswati Swami of Nityanand Yoga Ashram, Kondevoor, Sri Shraddanand Swami of Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh (MP), and Sri K T Jois of Krishna Dhama, Honnavar, Kasaragod, also delivered speeches on the occasion.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former minister and KSDL president Shivanand Naika Bhatkal, former MP Vinaykumar Sorake, All India Billava Association president Navinchandra D Suvarna, Kankanady Sri Brahma Baidarkala Temple trustee Chittaranjan, former MLA Prabhakar Bangera, Rukmayya Poojary, Karwar zilla panchayat vice-president Pushpa G Naik, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat vice president Jagannat Salian, Bantwal Billava Sangh president Sesappa Kotian, Beltangady Billava Sangh president Peetambar Heraje, Udupi Billava Sangh president Krishnappa Kotian, temple priest Janardan Shanti, RSS Karnataka south Pramuk Kalladka Dr Prabhakar Bhat, Padmanabha Maninje, Damodar Gardikar, veteran lawyer Purushottam Poojary, Devdas Mangalore, Bhaskar Kotian, Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) former chairman Tejomaya, J D Naik Bhatkal, and Padmanabha Maninje, were present on the dais.
MLA and chairman of enthronement committee K Vasant Bangera welcomed the gathering. Welcome committee president Peetambar Heraje proposed the vote of thanks.
The puja of temple assistants was offered as a memorial to late Sri Atmanand Saraswati Swami. Sri Brahmanand Saraswati Swami offered the puja for the temple assistants, while temple priest Janardan performed the Vedic rites on the occasion. The temple assistants were brought in a procession of trumpets. The Swamiji also offered saffron bag, dress, shawl, footwear, umbrella, bed sheet, and tiffin, to all temple assistants.
Sri Brahmanand Saraswati Swami and Swami Rajayogi Ramanand Swami of Kolya paid homage at the mausoleum of late Sri Atmanand Swami.
Sri Brahmanand Saraswati Swami was enthroned after the temple assistants led in a procession of drums and trumpets arrived at the Math.
Satya Sai Seva committee and Billava Mahila Vedike led a bhajan programme attended by thousands of devotees.
