Udupi: Manipal Institute of Management to Conduct ‘Finfest ‘09’ on Sep 4, 5

Udupi, Sep 4: “‘Finfest ‘09’ will be organized by the student committee of finance specialization in Manipal Institute of Management, at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) library auditorium here from Friday September 4 to Saturday September 5”, said Akeel Shetty, committee president. 

He said that the annual event would be fully organized by the second year students of finance. “It is an opportunity for all young minds to participate, learn, and showcase their talents. Also the students of various management institutes will get a chance to interact with each other,” he added.

“The two-day event has attracted a lot of teams from the state. There will be competitions in a number of events”, Shetty said. 

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) general manager (finance) R Subramanian will inaugurate the fest at 9.00 am on Friday at MIT Library auditorium. 

Manipal University (MU) registrar of international programmes Dr Vinod Bhat will preside over the programme.

As a part of this fest, seminars will be held on Friday at the MIT library auditorium. Eminent speakers from the industry and academics will talk on ‘Global Meltdown: Crises and Challenges’.

Various financial games will be held on Saturday including ‘Ice-breaker’, ‘Venture Capital’, ‘Mock Stock’, ‘Best CFO’, and a business quiz.

A cultural programme will be held on Saturday which will be followed by the valedictory function to be chaired by MU registrar Dr G K Prabhu.
