Puttur: Illegal Transportation of Cattle - Tempos, Animals and Three Accused taken into Possession

Puttur, Sep 4: The Uppinangady policemen, who intercepted two vehicles at Kolpe near Nellyadi on national highway 48 on Thursday September 3, and found that 15 she-buffaloes and a buffalo were being illegally transported, arrested three accused and took into possession two tempos and an Alto car, besides the animals.

The tempos were proceeding towards Mangalore from Hassan. The policemen found the animals loaded in an inhuman manner and the accused wanted to take them to a slaughter house. Three other accused reportedly fled.

The arrested men have been identified as Abdul Khader (28) and his brother, Siraj (20) from Sajipa Bastigudde village and Hamza (21), a resident of Sajipanadu Kanchibettu. Kumar from Belur, Mustafa from Adyar Mangalore and Abdul Khader from Perne Gadiyar have escaped during the operation, the policemen said.
