Moodbidri, Sep 4: Reportedly, a vehicle driver who was involved with the accident in which Shekhar L Rathod, gunman of BJP national leader L K Advani, was critically injured here on May 27 this year, has been arrested.
It may be recalled that it was alleged that Rathod, who had been to Moodbidri to visit his niece studying in a local college, was spotted talking to a friend of hers. A few youths took umbrage to this and beat up Shekhar. While Shekhar was trying to flee, he was hit by a vehicle and critically injured, it was reported. He had died the next day.
The vehicle involved with the accident has been identified as a pick up van. Its driver, Rama Naik, has been arrested by Mulky circle inspector Shivaprakash, it is said.
