Karkala: NMAMIT signs MoU with Durga Motors

Karkala, Dec 10: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was entered into between NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT) Nitte and Durga Motors Company.

The MoU was signed by Prof Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, principal, NMAMIT, and Uday Kumar, managing partner of Durga Motors Company on December 7 at Nitte campus.



Durga Motors have authorized service agency of Ashok Leyland heavy commercial vehicles. Durga Motors will provide technical support to make the Automotive Learning Factory of NMAMIT, an industry powered one as the laboratory is equipped with Ashok Leyland BS-IV big-bus Chassis. Durga Motors will provide technical support to the Automotive Learning factory for the training of faculty members and students to gain skills pertaining to technical changes in vehicles to meet BS-IV and BS-VI emission norms.

The essential features of the MoU also encompass support of Durga Motors for the training of faculty members and students of other institutes in the region. NMAMIT officials Yogeesh Hegde, registrar, Prof Srinivasa Rao B R, vice principal, Prof Shashikantha Karinka, head of Mechanical Engineering department, assistant professors Nithin Kumar and Raghavendra Pai were present. Durga Motors officials Arun Kumar, works manager, Usha, finance and legal officer, Rohith, assistant works manager, were present during the occasion and also visited the laboratory facilities of NMAMIT.
