Mangalore: Train Service From M’lore to Thiruvananthapuram to Start from Sep 10

Mangalore, Sep 6: The train service as announced in Union Railway Budget from Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram section will commence from Thursday September 10. However, the train service will be tri-weekly as opposed to the announcement of daily service owing to lack of infrastructure and flooded railyway network.

The train service will be flagged off by union minister of Kerala state for railways E Ahmed from Thiruvananthapuram Central on September 10 at 9.15 am. 

The train named as Thiruvananthapuram-Malabar Express will proceed from Kochuveli for the time being on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3.45 pm to reach Mangalore at 5.30 pm and from Mangalore on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7.15 am to reach Kochuveli at 8.35 pm.

     I think it would be convenient for Kerala bound Gulf passengers arriving early morning if the timing of departure at Mangalore is changed from 715AM 930AM. Our Kasargod/Kannur/Calicut friends should bring it to concerned authority''s attention.
