Doha, Sep 6: In celebration of the Monti Fest and continuing with the age old tradition of 'Novem Jevann',   Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar is pleased to invite each and everyone from Konkani speaking community to the celebration of Monti Fest on Friday, 11th September, 2009, at the Al Ghazal Club.

Lawrence Pinto, the man behind the 'Gulf Voice of Mangalore' Talent Search will be the Chief Guest of the evening and will be flying in from Kuwait, especially for this occasion. Fr. Andrew Leo D'Souza, the visiting parish priest of Jeppu pasish , who conducted the nine days of Novenas in honour of Mary Bambino and who will also be the main celebrant of the Feast Mass at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Doha  will be the Guest of Honour.

The highlight of the evening will ofcourse be, the partaking of the Blessed Corn (Novem) and the traditional home cooked 'Novem Jevann'. The other highlight will be the honouring of our Mangalorean Catechists for their selfless service and dedication for the common good.  With a cultural program and lots of games, the evening will surely be a fun-filled evening for the entire FAMILY.

As a mark of respect to our Konkani tradition, the organisers encourage all to come dressed in traditional attires like, mundu, kacchem, kurta, salwar, saree…

Inspired by the success and team-work exhibited by our members in organizing home cooked food over the past years, we will be following a similar arrangement this year as well.   Keeping in mind the huge crowd to cater, volunteers are requested to come forward to help.

We solicit your help and co-operation in continuing with the beautiful tradition of 'Novem Jevan' and towards making this event a truly Mangalorean FAMILY celebration.
