Mangalore: United Christian Association Inaugurated

Mangalore, Sep 6: An organization to promote the brotherhood among laity, United Christian Association (UCA) was inaugurated at a programme in Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatte, Kadri here on on Sunday September 6.
The inaugural function was graced by Fr V J Menezes, who blessed the occasion. Association president Alban Menezes inaugurated the organization by unveiling the organization’s logo.
Speaking on the occasion, advocate Stany D’Costa, who was the chief guest said that the organizations need to fight for justice when the constitutional right of a human being is under threat. Every human being in the society has the right to live, he said.
Victor Rodrigues, noted Konkani writer said that the associations are the voice of the people, which help develop culture and literature.
Association president Alban Menezes said that the association was formed to unite society brethren and teach them co-existence. Association will try to help the needy, sufferers due to injustice and also work for the upliftment of the poor.
The cassette titled Somia maka bogshi comprising Konkani devotional songs by Wilfred and Clifford, Kulshekar was released by Charles on the occasion.
Maurice D’Sa, Konkani journalist was also the chief guest. Association vice-president Joe Rego and secretary Vincent D’Cunha were also present. Association directors Jeevan Vas compered the programme and Marceline Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks.
