Udupi, Sep 7: The doctrines of Guru Narayan are ever relevant for the mankind, said former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake.  
 
He was speaking at the religious programme organized on the occasion of birth anniversary of Guru Narayan at Billava Sangh, Kaup, near here on Saturday September 5. Sorake called on the Billava Sangh, in order to devise a plan to popularize the doctrines of Guru Narayan, which are focused on societal progress and humanity, to the people across the world. 

 
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon was the chief guest on the occasion. 
 
Narayan Guru Urban Co-operative Bank president U Narayan presided. Kaup Billava Sangh president Shekar Salian, vice-president Prabhakar Kotian, Women wing president Savitri Ganesh and Seva Dal president Anil Kumar were present. Scholarships were distributed to community students on the occasion.
 
Chief secretary Madhav R Palan welcomed and proposed the vote of thanks. Shivanna Anchan compered the programme.
