Bangalore, Sep 7: Sources said that the state Governor Hansraj Bharadhwaj, who has expressed his objection to the continuance of tainted minister D Sudhakar in the state cabinet, even after the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a charge sheet against him in the court, has asked the Chief Minister to drop him.

"Sudhakar is involved in a serious case of bank fraud, as per the charge sheet filed against him. It is improper to allow tainted ministers to continue to function," the Governor is said to have remarked in his letter dated August 31.

It may be recalled, that a delegation of Congress leaders had met the Governor and prevailed upon him for dropping minister V Somanna, who had failed to get elected in the assembly election, and Sudhakar, against whom a charge sheet was filed in the court. Considering this complaint in all seriousness, the Governor had addressed a letter to the Chief Minister.

However, Sudhakar is likely to resign on Tuesday September 8, after Yeddyurappa comes back to the state capital from his China tour.
