Bantwal: Monti Fest at Our Lady Loretto Church

Bantwal, Sep 8: The nativity feast celebration relating to Our Lady Lortto Church here,  started at around 7.30 am at Loretto Padav Junction. The parish priest, Fr Cyprian Pinto, blessed the paddy grains and vegetables. The children holding the flowers collected by them, joined the procession of the faithful and offered them to the grotto of Mother Mary.

After the procession reached the church premises at around 8 am, the priest, along with the parish council members, gathered for the foundation stone laying ceremony for the beautification of the church. The priest blessed the stone and laid the foundation stone.

The priest, along with nearly 1,200 parishioners, offered holy mass. At the end of the mass, the priest honoured the children who secured highest marks in the examinations held in April/May this year. Light snacks were distributed to the people. Blessed corn and sugarcanes were distributed to families. The function came to an end at about 10 am.
