Beltangady: Monti Fest at St Peter Claver Church, Arva.

Beltangadty, Sep 8: Monti Fest was celebrated with grandeur at St Peter Claver Church, Arva today.



Hundreds of Christians took part in the celebrations. Ward Gurkars brought the paddy corns from the fields. These new corns were blessed at the entrance gate of the church.

Then people then went in procession, carrying the blessed corns, offering flowers and singing the Marian hymns. The culmination of the procession at the church premises, was followed by the Eucharistic celebration. Parish Priest, Fr Arun Lobo, presided over the whole ceremony and hundreds of people and children participated in it. After the holy mass, sugarcanes were distributed to the parishioners.
