Ramalinga Raju Suffers Cardiac Arrest in Jail, Shifted to Hospital

Hyderabad, Sep 8: Disgraced founder of Satyam Computer Services Limited B. Ramalinga Raju suffered cardiac arrest in a jail here Monday night and was rushed to a hospital.

Raju, who is in Chanchalguda Jail along with seven other accused in connection with Rs.78 billion accounting fraud, was given first aid by the jail authorities after he complained of chest pain. He was then shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

Doctors said he was undergoing treatment in intensive care unit and his condition was stable.

Raju is already suffering from Hepatitis B and is being treated for the same.

It was on Jan 7 this year that Raju shocked the corporate world by admitting Rs.78 billion accounting fraud in the IT major.

He and other accused have been charged with cheating and criminal conspiracy and are being tried for the same.
