Lucknow: Teacher Accused of Watching Obscene Clips in Classroom

Lucknow, Sep 8 (IANS) A teacher in a government-run school in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district has been accused of allegedly watching obscene clippings on his mobile phone in class and showing pornographic pictures to primary students, officials said Tuesday.

Shiv Kumar, a teacher with the Gulawati Primary School in Bulandshahr, will face action officials added.

"Parents of the primary school students Monday registered a complaint against the teacher," Ramesh Chandra Verma, who is in charge of primary education in the district, told IANS.

"As the charges against Shiv Kumar are serious, we today (Tuesday) decided to order an enquiry against him. Till the completion of the enquiry, the teacher has been asked not to take the classes," said Verma.

According to the officials, the parents in their complaint have also alleged that Kumar used to threaten students with dire consequences if they told the school principal or anyone else about the incident.

Bulandshahr is about 400 km from Lucknow.

    It may not be an issue for Mr.Shahnawaz though most of us are hypocrites.Is the teacher or Shahnawaz ready to watch such clippings in front of his family members? The issue here is not his watching such things,though he is supposed to be a model for future generation,but in a wrong place and time.

    Not an issue. If the teacher is watching obscene in his mobile whats the big deal about it. It doesnt amount to murder or any criminal activity. He has not used the clip to motivate students or staff to do the same act. We have many broader issues that need attention and not these silly issues. Please tell me how many of us from the readers have not watched any obscene pictures or blue images????? Lets be true to our inner conscious...Lets not be hypocrites...
