Vilton D'Souza elected president of ICYM Udupi diocese

Udupi, Dec 15: Vilton D'Souza from Moodubelle parish of Udupi diocese has been unanimously elected president of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Udupi diocese for the year 2020.

He was elected during the annual general body meeting and elections for new office-bearers held at Don Bosco Hall, Mother of Sorrows church here. Fr Reginald Pinto, director of SAMPADA Udupi diocese, conducted the elections.


The following were elected as office-bearers for the year 2020:

President : Vilton D'Souza
Vice-president : Vijeth D'Souza
Vice-president : Shainey Alva
Secretary : Wenzil Agera
Joint secretary : Brain Smith D'Souza
Treasurer : Junia Monalisa Barboza
Joint treasurer : Vinod D'Souza
Spokesperson : Ashish Menezes
Media secretary : Joyston Menezes

Kalyanpur deanery president : Merwyn Vijay Rodrigues
Karkal deanery president : Inesh Miranda
Shirva deanery president : Glen Anthony Pinto
Udupi deanery president : Melwyn Carvallo
Kundapur deanery president : Arthur Dias

Youth director Fr Edwin D’Souza administered the oath to the new office bearers.

Chief guest Fr Chethan Machado, secretary, CCBI-Youth Commission briefed on the new memorandum and regulations of ICYM and requested the youth to concentrate more on formation.

The day started with the Holy Eucharistic Mass. Former president Dion D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Newly elected president Vilton D'Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Derick Mascarenhas compered the programme.
