Udupi: Theft at district judge's house - Ornaments worth Rs 4.8 lac lost

Udupi, Dec 16: It has come to light with delay that 138 grams of gold ornaments worth about Rs 4.80 lac were stolen from the residential quarters of district judge at Ajjarkad here, C M Joshi.

The theft came to light when Shailaja Joshi, wife of C M Joshi, opened the drawer of an almirah at her home for keeping the ornaments in bank locker. A box containing gold jewellery was found missing.

Shailaja Joshi, in a complaint filed in the town police station here on Sunday, December 15, said that unknown thieves had stolen the ornaments between November 11 and 28.
