Kadaba, Dec 16: While protests are being held nationwide demanding stringent laws to protect women from sexual predators, another rape attempt took place in Dolpaddy in Dakshina Kannada’s Kadaba taluk.
The victim, a student studying in 5th standard was returning home from school on December 14, when a person attacked her and dragged her to the nearby bushes. While he tried to sexually assault the victim, she screamed loudly and to silence her, he attempted to kill her.
However, his attempt was unsuccessful when a group of students returning from school on the same road were alerted.
The person let go of the girl and escaped. The girl then approached Kadaba police station and lodged a complaint. Kadaba police arrested Shivaram, the alleged perpetrator.
