Delhi temperature dips to 7 degrees


New Delhi, Dec 18 (IANS): The national capital on Wednesday witnessed the coldest morning of the season with the temperature recorded at 7 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average, the weather office said.

This was after on Tuesday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 12.9 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest in December in the last 16 years.

The India Meteorological Department said the day will remain cold and get severe cold. "It will be a cold day in the city with a partly cloudy sky," a Met official said.

The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 17 degrees Celsius, the official added.

Not just Delhi, but neighbouring Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram were also under the grip of a cold spate.
