Udupi: Annual prize distribution held at St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady

Udupi, Dec 18: Prize distribution ceremony of the various co-scholastic activities conducted during the academic year 2019-20 was held at the Mother Theresa Hall of St Mary’s English Medium School (CBSE), Kannarpady, Udupi on Tuesday, December 17.

The formal programme started with invoking almighty’s blessings by the tiny tots of Kinder Garten section. Fr Valerian Mendonca, the correspondent of St Mary’s Educational institutions, Udupi presided over the function.

Merida Almeida, Manasi Sudhir, proud alumni of the school Regan Dsilva, Prithish D’Sa, the members of the school management committee Maxim D’souza, Erwin Alva, Gracian Bothello, Boniface D’souza, Dolphy Mascarenhas and Herman D’souza were the guests of the day.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, in his presidential address said, “Each child is gifted with special talents and potentials and the children can think beyond imagination, so no child should be underestimated”. He congratulated the winners and wished all the very best for all the participants. The guests’ of the day also opined that it is the participation in various activities that matters a lot rather than winning an event. In fact it is the looser, who learns a lot of things with failure and puts in a lot of efforts to win in future.

The winners of various events were honoured with certificate of merit by the president of the programme and the guests. A number of parents and guardians were present to witness their wards receiving the honour and encouraged them with their gracious presence. The programme winded with singing school anthem. The whole programme was well planned and executed by the principal of the school Fr Johnson Sequeira and vice principal Rita Quadros, respectively.
