Mangaluru, Dec 21: Curfew clamped within the police commissionerate limits here continues to be in force till December 22. A relaxation in curfew was given from 6 to 8 am on Saturday, December 21 to enable people to buy things and attend to urgent work.

Some shops briefly operated during this period. Vehicles barring city buses, auto rickshaws etc, are seen moving now and then. Night buses from Bengaluru moved through the city to other destinations normally early in the morning.

Police personnel continued to patrol many areas. A few two-wheeler riders were caned and asked to leave as curfew is in place. The city continues to have a almost deserted look.

District in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, who held meetings with the district deputy commissioner and senior police officers on Friday, said that the situation here is stable and he has provided detailed information about the situation to the chief minister and home minister.

I was thinking those who are opposing CAA will be enforcing bandh and try to disrupt normal life in the city. How ironic it is the police who have successfully enforced bandh in the city.

If you are feeling inconvenienced in these few days of curfew and no internet, please spare a thought for the people of kashmir who had to go through this for months. They had no outlet to voice their opinion. We should always be grateful for the small things in life, because we dont know the value of something untill we truly lose it.
