Dubai, Sep 13: Dandiya, a navaratri feast presented to the Dandiya and Garba Raas lovers by Billawa Balaga Dubai and Billawa Balaga Mahila Vibhaga. This mega event Dandiya Masti 2009 is hosted at the Al Nasr Leisureland Ice Rink and shall witness what is believed to be the finest ever Dandiya event taking place on 25th Sept 2009 (Friday).
Speaking to Daijiworld, Ashok Anchan, President of Billawa Balaga Dubai commented that the unprecedented success of the Dandiya event conducted in 2006 and the persistent demand to host it again was the compelling reason to host Dandiya once again as part of Celebration 2009 and 12th year event.
One of the best known Dandiya bands “The Dubai Rockers” with DJ Salim shall provide unbelievable live entertainment. The fifteen member band with scintillating Dandiya tunes shall be a carnival extravaganza full of thrills and delight for each and everyone.
With Navaratri festival coming close, residents of Dubai, are honing their dance skills ahead of the Dandiya and Garba Raas. Happily enough, you don’t have to be either Gujarati or blessed with twinkle toes to take part in the festivities. Just drive down to Al Nasr Leisureland to take in its quintessential charm and vibrancy first-hand and feel Apnu Amdavad.
Dandiya is touted as the world’s longest dance festival, as well as one which leaves revellers bleary-eyed.
