‘Hostilities, work for peace, love’ - Bishops on Christmas Eve

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Dec 23: In his Christmas message, Udupi bishop, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, has reminded the people that the Almighty had appeared in the form of a small baby in a crib inside a stable because of his affection for the humans, in spite of being all powerful. "Bible tells us that the Lord who greatly loved this world, sent his only son here," he noted.

"God took birth here to teach to the people who had forgotten humanity and on the way of turning into demons, virtues of humanity. He gifted peace and tranquillity to the world. However, now we see turmoil, inequality, injustice, poverty, unemployment, violence, exploitation, war, illnesses, enmity, religious bigotry, and intolerance about other religions in the current day world. Revenge cannot set right these things. Love alone is the answer, and Jesus Christ took birth here to spread this message," said Bishop of Udupi diocese, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.

He recollected that peace settled in the world on the day Jesus was born. "Jesus said he would leave peace and composure in the world when going back. Those who work for peace and tranquillity are the real children of the god. Shall I expect all of you to become fortunate ones by striving for peace and become ambassadors of peace and love? Shall we build India that is resplendent with love and peace?" the Bishop has questioned the people, when extending warm Christmas greetings.

Beltangady

Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, bishop of Beltangady diocese, said that Jesus Christ took human form and came to earth to extend protection to the humans who had been enveloped in the darkness of sins.

"This is an occasion that brings happiness to all the human beings. If this news has to be sweet for us, we have to wholeheartedly accept Jesus and tread on the path of purity and love for others. We have to get rid of enmity and quarrel and lead a life full of peace and love. I pray that on this occasion of Christmas, everyone will get blessings of Jesus Christ. May our land be the abode of peace and opulence and I seek blessings of Lord Christ to give this boon. I also extend to everyone greetings for new year, 2020," he said in his message.

Agree. Time for God to show his divine presence in human form again as the world is going to the dogs with the same kind of atrocities, police brutalities, corruption, street violence and guns and gangs, rape cultures, etc. in every country! May be the Second Coming is near!

What great and caring messages from the two stalwarts of The Christian Church.

Yes we to follow the concepts explained by His Lordship Bishop Gerard of Udupi Diocese and His Lordship Lawrence Mukkuzhy.

Indeed in the world that we are living in we must recall that REVENGE AND VENDETTA should not be our aims. Our goals should be PEACE AND HARMONY.

We see in hotels, people having a birthday party for their baby, but baby is kept at home since with the baby at the function, they would be not having the fun. How ridiculous, a birthday celebration for a child who is not welcome to it's own birthday.

And now, we are doing the same thing during Christmas. During the whole season, going to the party, shopping for gifts and family gathering, we forget the one whose birthday we are commemorating.
During this time, in all our good times with family and friends, let us be careful that we don't keep out baby Jesus, who is Immanuel, and let us keep him permanently in our heart, Immanuel means "God is with us".
