Mangaluru: St Agnes College Science forum creates awareness on solar eclipse among school children

Mangaluru, Dec 23: The Science forum of St Agnes College (Autonomous) here, recently organized a solar eclipse awareness session for the Kannada Medium School students.

Information through PowerPoint presentations, diagrams and a dramatic display was presented to the students.

Students from standard 1 to 7 attended the session.



Light was thrown on the superstitions that exist and scientific reasons were given on the same.

In addition to demonstrations using a mirror and other equipment, students were given a brief of the effects of solar eclipse.

Toward the end of the session, there was a question-answer round wherein numerous students clarified their doubts on the matter.

Rakshitha elaborated the process of solar eclipse in English while Raksha explained the same in Kannada.

All the members of the Science forum actively participated in the session along with the primary students.

Dr Saraswathi B S, the staff co-ordinator and Malani Lisha D'Souza organized the event.
