Moodbidri: Carmel School enjoys festive Christmas

Media Release

Moodbidri, Dec 24: Christmas was celebrated on December 23 with great enthusiasm at Carmel School, here.

The entire school was beautifully decorated with Christmas tree, stars, crib and gifts. Christmas mass was celebrated at the school hall which was attended by all the Catholic students. Christmas blessings were bestowed on everyone by the Christmas blessing prayer.

The Christmas programme began with a prayer and a welcome dance by the students. The school principal, Sr Jyothi Saldanha and the chief guest, Sr Felcita AC were welcomed by the students with a bouquet. The students performed dances and sang carols, wishing everyone a very happy Christmas.

The programme was followed by a skit that sent out a message celebrating the birth of Jesus not just on outer grandeur, but much more by preparing one’s own heart to accept each other with love and respect.

The chief guest in her message called upon the staff and the students to imbibe the true spirit of Christmas by loving and sharing, in school, in family and society. In the classroom, the students learnt about the spirit of giving and sharing and they exchanged gifts with one another. Several activities like Christmas card making, star-making were organized by the school where winners were awarded prizes.

While Santa came to greet everyone, all the students joined in wishing each other celebrating the day. It was indeed a joy-filled day for everyone.

The programme was compered by Reon and Melisha of Class IX.

Allen D'Souza of class V proposed the vote of thanks.
