Mangaluru: Ex-MLA Bava urges people to gather in large numbers for anti-CAA protest on Jan 4

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Dec 24: Former MLA Mohiuddin Bava has urged people to gather in large numbers at Nehru Maidan on January 4 to participate in a peaceful protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Addressing a press meet here, Bava said, "CAA divides people on the basis of religion. People are expected to produce proper documents under NRC or else they can be sent to refugee camps. NRC and CAB would harm people irrespective of caste and religion. Every person needs to come forward to protest against NRC and CAB."

Condemning the police for resorting to lathi-charge and opening fire on the protesters during the agitation on December 19 in the city, Bava said, "There was no need to resort to lathi-charge as the protesters were protesting peacefully against the government's decisions. But police resorted to lathi-charge to suppress the protesters. Police could have arrested the stone-pelters and also those who damaged public property. Why was there a need to kill innocent people in the firing?"

He urged people to protest peacefully on January 4 at Nehru Maidan and demand for the withdrawal of NRC and CAB.

Congress leaders Sahul Hameed, Mustafa, Jaleel and Asif were present.

Earlier, the Central Muslim Committee had said that the protest was initially planned for December 28, but due to Christmas and New Year celebrations, it was decided to postpone to January 4 so as not to inconvenience the public ahead of the festivities.

Bava, discourse is ridiculous !!! Does he have the fortitude, to support such mayhem and destruction, in any Islamic state ????? We in our nation, do not want another sequence, that led to partition in 1947 !!!! Nor any footprints of traitors, who have now been systematically neutralized, by our security agencies, in Jammu n Kashmir...

If the peaceful protest on 04.01.2020 , Mr. Mohideen Bava and his congress party should be held responsible and the cost of damages to private /public properties should be recovered from Mohideen Bava alone by sealing and recovering the cost of damage from the sale proceeds of his property.

The Mangalore police should act tough with these rowdy congress elements without any leniency shown. They are out to create disturbance and destroy the peaceful atmosphere in Mangalore by their narrow political activism.

When any protest turns violent, the organizers should be held responsible, they should be made to pay for the damages.A bank guarantee should be taken in advance, to cover damages,so that people do not run away from responsibilities afterwards.

    Dear All,

Let Bava protest or call for violence for the upcoming trouble sponsored by
Cong-I or thier alternative names in Kasaragod, Kerala..etc.

But , for India and our own community's sake, pls do not encourage such unfair misunderstanding or total ignorance.

Well, I guess, one will only experience it personally if you are a Rohinga's or one among those massively flooding Karnataka from the porous border.

Why protest against CAA when it is not applicable for who are already citizens of the country? NRC is yet to be announced. I'm sure these type of people will also protest against UCC which is expected to come up shortly.

It was quoted by Bava “People are expected to produce proper documents under NRC”

It’s very common that we need to produce proper documents for everything say for e.g.
    1 Applying for Passport
    2 Aadhar Card
    3 Election Card
    4 Ration Card
    5 Pan Card
    6 Bank Loan
    7 so on………………………..

Just produce the proper documents under NRC, simple as it. If any documents can’t be produced there is always an alternative remedy.

For what you are you protesting?

What Govt checked during your Passport issue? What they checked while issuing Voters ID? OK, now what is this NRC? Why I have to do it? Just to prove my forefathers for generations to generations lived in some part of current day India?

We are protesting for Fascism rule, we are protesting for protection of Ambedkar constitution which gives equal rights to all, not Golwalkar constitution, we are protesting for protection of our beloved Tiranga against Bhagwa which denotes Manusmrithi ideology, we are protesting for protecting secularism which defines unity and diversity of this country against Fascism.

Bhai, this government is clearly elected by the people of India. And this government is doing what is promised in their election manifesto. You have no choice for now except to oppose peacefully. However, you have a chance after four years to demonstrate your voting power to choose the government of your choice.

    DS, Kinnigoli,
if it was that simple, then let government make an official statement what are the documents required to prove the citizenship instead of misleading public by issuing contradicting statements.
When Passport (Internationally recognized document for proving citizenship) is not valid for NRC then how come the documents provided to issue the passport becomes valid?
People are protesting against the CAA, which is biased and unconstitutional. They are not afraid of NRC, but for sure everyone is confused about it... including the people who caused this chaos.

If they are confused, they can get it clarified. They are not kids. They have chosen violence out of frustration just because they hate Modi & Shah.
