Mangaluru: Christmas celebrated at Expert College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Dec 26: “Christmas is a festival for spreading joy and caring for the less privileged ones in the society," said Roy Castelino, former president, Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy. He was addressing the gathering as chief guest after inaugurating EX’MAS-2019, Christmas Celebrations at Expert College campus, Valachil. He expressed his extreme happiness over the tradition of Expert College celebrating the festivals of all faiths as they promote national integration, harmony and peaceful co-existence. He also gave a call for making our country free from corruption, terrorism and communal divide.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, Chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, presided over the function. He wished everyone Merry Christmas and a joyful and prosperous new year filled with success.

Dr Ushaprabha N. Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions, in her keynote address stressed the need for religious harmony in our society and wished that such celebrations unite heart and minds.

The highlight of the celebration was the singing of carols and cultural activities by the students.

Proffesor Narendra L Nayak honoured the chief guest with a memento.

Ankush N Nayak, director, Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, architect Deepika A Nayak, Ustaad Rafique Khan, trustee, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, were present on the occasion.

Naman Pujeri of E1 batch welcomed the gathering formally and compered the programme. K A Shanthi of E1 batch, rendered the vote of thanks.
