Kundapur: 10th All India Karnataka Brahman mega convention inaugurated

Kundapur, Dec 28: "The Brahmin community is striving for to create cultural society of education and religious values without expecting money or property. Central government has given 10% reservation to this community. The report of its implementation will be brought from other states where it is implemented and the same will be implemented in Karnataka also. I will get five crore released for the building of auditorium in the site of Mahasabha," said chief minister B S Yediyurappa.

Yediyurappa was speaking after inaugurating the 10th All India Karnataka Brahman mega convention at the grounds of Government First Grade College of Kalawar in Koteshwar near here. This event is being organized by Akhila Karnataka Brahman Mahasabha. Yediyurappa also released the memorial magazine 'Bhargava Jyoti' on the occasion.

Yediyurappa futher said, "Brahmin community is doing the work of spreading the Rashtradharma by inculcating religion, ritual and traditions in life. The community has made an effort to educate all Hindus right from the religious traditions to the feeling of Dharma. The role played by Brahmins in the making of this country is also huge. A development committee is formed for the further development of this community. The government is committed to fulfill the demands of Brahmin community.

Neramballi Raghavendra Rao presided over the convention. President of welcome committee of the convention Chandrashekhar Hebbar welcomed the gathering. Actress and anchor Aparna N compered the programme.

Many people's representatives were absent for the programme. The absence of MLA of the constituency Halady Srinivas Shetty was very prominent. It also gave room to rumours as to why Srinivas Shetty has not participated in a programme that is taking place in his constituency when his own party chief minister had arrived for the same.
