Udupi, Dec 29: Former IPS officer Annamalai, said that an ambitious plan to develop leadership skills among the young people of the state will be announced soon. He revealed about such a plan during his visit to the office of a Kannada daily here on Saturday, December 28.

He noted that both at the state and national levels, there is dearth of youngsters having leadership skills. He noted that during the last five years, 65 percent jobs created were in the fields of service industry. He felt that hopes of real development gets kindled when a person who joins the service industry is able to set up own industry based on the experience he has derived as an employee.

He attributed recent violent disturbances both in Mangaluru and elsewhere to lack of capable leaders. "When people who have the capacity to take positions of responsibility keep quiet, their silence gives wrong signals to the people. A large number of people opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and those in favour of it are incapable of giving even five points in favour or against the act. The issue of proper leadership is highlighted here," he stated. He also felt that when there is lack of leadership in the society, the situation that arises is like a time bomb. He asserted that the immediate need is to develop regional level leaders.

He revealed about his dream project of arming youngsters with leadership skills in cities like Mangaluru, Udupi and Coimbatore, which would be expanded to other areas in phases.

Annamalai has all the qualities to become a BJP agent.

His talk replicates the same. Now he has started bit softly beating around the bush. But with time his speech will be sharp.

This was very clear from the time he resigned. He has been offered some position but immediate joining would not be good so he is delaying.
