Mangalore: Jaycee Week 2009 -A Glamorous Event

Mangalore, Sep 17: Junior Chamber International (JCI), Mangalore organised various competitions for students and the general public as part of Jaycee Week 2009. The winners of the competitions are:
Jc Prince and Princess-2009
Pratham won the ‘Jc Prince 2009’ and Maithri Navada won the ‘Jc Princess 2009’ title. Prithvinath won the 1st Runner Up and Chirag D. won the 2nd Runner Up in the ‘Jc Prince 2009’ contest. Vea Jovita Mascarenhas won the 1st Runner Up and Adora Mascarenhas won the 2nd Runner Up in the ‘Jc Princess 2009’ contest.
Meri Awaz Suno
In the Male category Sandesh won the 1st prize. Melwin and Dinesh won the 2nd and 3 rd prize respectively. In the Female category Ananya Harish won the 1st prize. Keerthana Sujir & Gayathri won the 2nd & 3rd prize respectively.
Jc Vijay Vishnu Mayya, Past President of JCI Mangalore hosted the programme. Noted Kannada Playback Singer Rameshchandra distributed prizes for the winners.
NAMASTE INDIA
In the college category St Agnes P.U College won the overall 1st place. Sarojini Madhusudhn Kushe P.U.College won the overall 2nd place. S.D.M College of Business Management and Sri Devi College of Fashion Design jointly won the overall 3rd place.
St Agnes P.U College won also won the 1st place for Best MC. S.D.M College of Business Management won the 2nd place. Sarojini Madhusudhn Kushe P.U.College and Sri Devi College of Management jointly won the 3rd place.
S.D.M College of Business Management won 1st place for Best Costume. Sarojini Madhusudhn Kushe P.U.College and St Agnes P.U College won the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
In the High School category Chinmaya High School won the overall 1st Place and St Aloysius High School won the overall 2nd place.
Rangoli, Hair Style, Mehendi and Flower Arrangement Competition
In Rangoli competition Vidya Jagadish won the 1st prize. Chandrika Jayaram and Sindhu G.Adiga won the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
In Hair Style competition Ankitha Nayak won the 1st prize. Ranjitha Kamath won the 2nd prize.
In Mehendi competition Bindiya Pujara won the 1st prize. Reem Yusuf and Ashika Nainaz won the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
In Flower Arrangement Gowrish won the 1st prize. N. Vignesh and Jositta Noronha won the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
Elocution Competition
Elocution Competition for High School Students was on the topic ‘Proud to be an Indian’. Manisha D’souza & Jake Tseira of St Theresa School, Bendoor won the 1st and 2nd prize respectively.
Outstanding Young Person Award 2009
Recipients of ‘Outstanding Young Person Award 2009’ were Karthik Kashyap (Academic Excellency), Jacintha Veigas (Education & Health Care), Baba Alankar (Civil Engineering), Harinakshi Kulal (Disabled), Dr Krishna Prasad (Medicine), Jyothsna S. (Fine Arts), Abdul Ahad Puthige (Police), B.M.Mumtaz Ali (Social Service).
