Yadagiri, Dec 29: In an alleged inhumane act by the staff of government hospital here, a pregnant lady who had come for delivery was reportedly sent back saying that she did not have the proper documents with her.

The lady gave birth to a baby in an autorickshaw while she was returning from the hospital after being denied admission.

The incident was reported on the midnight of Saturday, December 28. Devi, a resident of Mudnala Tanda of the taluk had approached the government hospital after she experienced labour pains, but was allegedly denied admission for not carrying proper identification documents.

With no other option left, Devi took an auto rickshaw to return from the hospital. However, on the way back, she gave birth to a baby girl in the autorickshaw itself. Both mother and child are getting treated at the district hospital at present and are safe.

Mudnal is the native village of BJP MLA Venkata Reddy. The family of Devi are enraged over the alleged ill-treatment meted to her in the government hospital.
