Kuwait: Vicar General of Augrangabad, Dr Valerian Fernandes, Visits Kuwait

Kuwait, Sep 18:  Fr Valerian Fernandes, vicar general and chancellor of Aurangabad diocese in Maharashtra state, is on a short personal visit to Kuwait. He arrived here on Wednesday September 16. The Piusnagar Welfare Committee Kuwait (PWCK) president, Ramy Fernandes and Praveen Menezes welcomed him at the Kuwait airport, by offering flowers.

On behalf of Abbassiya Catholic Families, Kuwait, Norbert D’Souza, Vinay Martis, Glades Noronha and Glenvel Noronha also extended a warm welcome to him at the airport.

Fr Valerian Fernandes is a widely acclaimed and popular Catholic priest in Aurangabad diocese. He has been a great educationist, social activist and a good pastor. He has built several churches, schools, boardings and a hospital for the village people. People from all walks of life have an easy access to him for any sort of help concerning social justice, medical care and education. He is always by the side of the poor and the ones with broken hearts. He is a learned man, who has won several awards, including the 'Ideal Teacher' award, Rajeev Gandhi Shiromani Award, Best Citizen award, Rashtreeya Nirman Award etc. Recently, he received the Priest Excellence Award from the Catholic Priests Conference of India. He was also conferred with the 'Best Educationist ' award and 'Rashtreeya Vidya Gold Medal ' award on September 14 at the Speaker’s Hall, New Delhi.

The Bishop of Aurangabad diocese is very proud of his vicar general, chancellor and financial administrator, Fr Valerian Fernandes.
