Mangaluru, Dec 30: The annual carnival ‘Expert Day’ commemorating the foundation day of Expert Pre University College was celebrated at Valachil campus amidst jubilation and great zeal.

Dr Ganesh S Pai, managing director, DERMA-CARE, Mangaluru and D B Mehta, Ex IRS; group chairman, Allegro; chairman, CREDAI & IGBC, Mangaluru, were the guests of honour.

Addressing the students Dr Ganesh S Pai said, “Peak yourself at the right time and give your best shot and let your achievement become a benchmark to follow." He added that one needs to retool, reinvent and modernise oneself and rise high. He asked them to give back to the society what they have taken from it when they settle down in life.

In his inspirational thought sharing, D B Mehta said, “There will be always some kind of failures or set backs and it is not important. But what is important is how you transform such failures into triumph without bogging down to the set back. Always define your own goal, keep following it and soar high in the sky like an eagle.” He lauded the Expert College for shaping the future of students who are the true nation builders and becoming wonderful alma mater for them.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, in his presidential address attributed the success of Expert to the good team work of everyone in the system. Greeting the staff and the students on the occasion he advised them not to miss an opportunity in life and added that correction of our failures is the actual stepping stone to success.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert group of Institutions, in her keynote address stated that the occasion of Expert day is not only about celebrating our scholastic success but also to remember and thank each and every individual connected with Expert and contributed to our growth. It is also the celebration of our growth from a tiny endeavour confined to one room into massive educational edifice.

Ankush N Nayak, director, Informatiion Technology, Expert Group of Institutions; Ustad Rafique Khan, trustee; engineer Suresh Pai, trustee; architect Deepika A Nayak; Prof Ramachandra Bhat, principal, Expert PU College Kodialbail campus and Shekhar Patil, president of student parliament, were present on the dais.

The formal programme began with the college anthem and lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil campus, introduced guests of honour and extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and the audience.

Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal presented the annual report of the college for the year 2018-19.

The rank holders of 2018-19 and the proficiency prize winners for 2018-19 were felicitated.

The programme director Subrahmanya Udupa, HOD Mathematics, rendered the vote of thanks. Anirudh and Uthpala compered the formal function.

The formal function was followed by cultural extravaganza. Swathi, Varsha Prashanth, Prajwal Rathod and Adithya Ananth anchored the cultural programme. At the end delectable dinner was served.

Earlier in the day, Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, declared the College Day open in the morning assembly at the Time Square Ground. Dr Kishan Dhelampady, an alumnus of the Kodialbail campus and Bhuvan V B, college topper, 2018-19 batch were the guests of honour. Dr Kishan Dhelampady hoisted the flag of Kodialbail campus and Bhuvan V B hoisted the flag of Valachil Campus in the presence of Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, Ankush N Nayak, architect Deepika A Nayak, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, Raghavendra Shenoy, members of the staff and students. This was followed by Kite festival led by Pranesh, Janardana Rao Hossabettu and Arun Amin. Joshua Jacob T compered the programme.
